The map of casualties in Syria since March
For more than 10 months Syria has been engulfed in bloodshed as the President of the country, Bashar al-Assad, refuses to relinquish power and relentlessly continues his efforts to quell the persistent uprising of the people against his 12-year rule.
According to estimates by the United Nations more than 5.400 people have died since March, while the Local Coordination Committees of Syria reported on Tuesday that more than 6.600 deaths have been documented since the revolt began.
